1 – FEAR – Fermanagh Endurance Adventure Race
Well it is October and it’s a pretty scary month, so what better way to spend a Saturday morning than getting up close and personal with Fermanagh’s rugged and wild terrain. Cycle through quiet back roads that cut through the limestone landscape, carved out by Ireland’s icy past, they’re guaranteed to give you more ups than downs!
Then experience the wetter side of Fermanagh as you take to the water for 2 challenging Kilometres along Lough Erne’s rocky shores – and if the 304 metre near vertical climb to the top of the Magho Cliff Challenge doesn’t take your breath away, then maybe the panoramic view it offers at the top will. So in a county steeped in myth and folklore, are you ready to become a legend in your own time?

2 – Portrush Beer and Food Festival
The very best of local produce and drink will be on the menu when Portrush Beer and Food Festival returns to the resort.Following on from the success of the inaugural event last year, it takes place in the atmospheric surroundings of Portrush Town Hall. With an extra day added to the programme, it’s set to be a weekend to remember.
Organisers, Lacada Brewery, launched this year’s festival at a recent event in the historic venue. Inspired by the growing numbers of local food and drink producers here, the co-operative’s aim is to showcase and celebrate the very best of artisan food and drink.
The event will also raise funds for a very worthy local cause, with organisers nominating Portrush RNLI as their chosen charity.

3 – Jools Holland and his Rhythm And Blues Orchestra
Jools Holland brings his acclaimed Rhythm And Blues Orchestra to Belfast Waterfront on Friday 13 October 2017.
The incomparable Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall will join the uplifting party on vocals. Together with the inimitable musicianship of the Rhythm And Blues Orchestra which features the drums of original Squeeze member Gilson Lavis, Jools Holland will be performing tracks spanning his entire solo career as well as songs taken from his latest album ‘Jools & Ruby’.

4 – Zara Larsson
Zara Larsson has announced her first UK and European headline tour following the release of her sophomore album, ‘So Good’, in March 2017.

6 – Ghosts in the Glens Storytelling Festival
The Ghosts in the Glens Festival, organised by Antrim Glens Tourism, aims to attract both tourists and local people for a four day celebration of the rich traditions of storytelling and music in the Glens of Antrim, the cultural heart of the Causeway Coast and Glens. On the lead up to Halloween, a magical time in Ireland, the stories told will have a distinctly spooky flavour as the festival theme is one of ghosts, fairies and banshees.Listeners of all ages will be welcome at venues in Glenariffe, Cushendall, Cushendun, Ballycastle and Rathlin Island. As well as evening concerts featuring fine storytelling and music there will be special highlights such as “Ghosts on the Coast”, a story-telling boat trip to the magical Rathlin Island. A family story-walk around Glenariffe Forest Park with its beautiful waterfalls will enable listeners to enjoy the tales in a spectacular location.
For those wanting to develop their own storytelling skills there will be a workshop and a story-swap where they can have a go themselves.
Younger members of the family can enjoy “not so scary” stories and there will be other special children’s activities such as quizzes, crafts and fancy dress.
So come and experience the true spirit of the Glens of Antrim at this unique festival where listeners of all ages will hear tales of ghosts, fairies and witches to send shivers up their spines!!
7 – World Surf Kayak Championships 2017
2017 will welcome the best surf kayakers from around the world to compete in the first ever Surf Kayak World Championships to be held in Northern Ireland. The event will be held at the East Strand, Portrush, one of the Causeway Coast’s most beautiful beaches. The organisers are the Canoe Association of Northern Ireland
There are two parts to the competition: the Individual Championships and the Team Championship.
Surf kayaking is a fun event to watch as you will see the world’s finest execute dynamic moves on the wave and frequently getting air between the kayak and the wave.
We are looking forward to showing the competitors what Northern Ireland has to offer including a variety of organised social activities during the evening. This will be a great opportunity to come and meet athletes from a range of countries and cultures and to spectate as they compete in this dynamic sport.
8 – Finding Nemo and Dory Day at Exploris

9 – Belfast Halloween Monster Mash and Fireworks Display
Belfast’s biggest and best Halloween event and fireworks display is promising guests plenty of weird and wonderful action on Sunday 29 October at The Slipways, Titanic Belfast with a cast of thousands!
The entertainment line-up will feature:
An array of street theatre and walkabouts | breathtaking fire shows and jugglers | wicked arts and crafts workshops | fairground rides | live music | a range of hot food, drinks, sweets and Halloween tasty treats!
The evening will draw to a cinematic finale with the largest fireworks display in the city, with theme tunes.

Rock icon Liam Gallagher announces a headline show at the SSE Arena.
Representing his first tour following the 6 October release of his debut solo album ‘As You Were’, the announcement comes as Liam is back at the height of his powers.
